Young Authors Conference
My husband, Gene, and I had the honor of being invited speakers at a Young Authors Conference. Gene shared how to create interesting book covers and illustrations. He also shared the interesting history of why we have book covers. I shared about writing children’s picture books, turning a book into a play and drawing your own illustrations. I have some illustrations to share with you from the students. The drawings are based on the book, Chick Heather’s New Neighborhood, New Friends.
They did a great job! A+ for everyone.
I now have a title for my 11th book: Can a Robin Read?
Would you like a hint about the book? Well, here it is: Can an America Robin bird read the welcome sign on a wreath hanging on the front door of a home? Perhaps she can because she decided to build her nest in the center of the wreath. Join the owners of the home, Poppy and Grammy, as they watch and learn all about American Robins. A true experience inspired this book.
I’m writing my 11th book.
It is a nonfiction book about the American Robin. My husband, Gene, and I had the joy of watching robins build a nest for their eggs in our yard. I hope you will check back and I’ll keep you posted on the progress of the book. Currently, I have completed the rough draft with many more exciting steps to go.
